John has over 25 years of investment experience across a broad array of investment styles, structures and strategies. John began his career as an analyst in public equities for both long and short ideas, spending time as an activist investor trying to fix dysfunctional public boards, and then launching his own investment management business Dialectic Capital, in 2003. He sold Dialectic's Hedge Fund Business to B. Riley Financial in 2017, then resigned in 2020. In 2020 he launched Medtex Ventures and Dialectic Capital as primarily a fundless sponsor

Joined Dialectic in 2009. He has more than 30 years of experience managing investments across the capital structure in a variety of industries with specialization in derivatives, activist investing, short selling, credit and capital structure trades and the financing of small enterprises. He began his career at Bear Stearns & Co., Inc., and has managed capital for several hedge funds in diverse strategies.

Joined Dialectic in 2017. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in investment management, including executive positions at JP Morgan Private Bank and B. Riley Wealth Management. In addition to these roles, Trevor has spent over 15 years building startup asset managers, serving as a hedge fund allocator and advising alternative investment firms on strategy and structuring.

Joined Dialectic in January of 2024 to assist with Investor Relations and Marketing. In addition, Chad is a Principal at Race Rock Capital LLC, where he serves as Chief Compliance Officer.  Chad has over 25 years of financial services experience and previously worked for several firms as an Equities and Derivatives sales trader.
